FREE Arizona DMV Practice Test #17 Page 3 of 4
This DMV practise tests for Arizona was just updated for January 2024. It includes questions based on the most important traffic signs and restrictions from the 2024 Arizona Driver Handbook. To prepare for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each practise test question offers a recommendation and explanation to help you remember the topics. Questions about road rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as information from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official DMV test.
You must properly answer 24 out of 30 questions to receive a passing grade. To help you prepare for your Arizona instruction permit or driver's licence, take our DMV practise test.
The DMV exam is accessible in a variety of languages.
Using a testing aid of any kind will result in an automatic failure, and the DMV may take additional action against your driver's licence, so don't do it.

This orange warning sign tells drivers that an area of roadwork is upcoming. When traveling through a work zone, stay alert for temporary traffic control devices.
18 . When driving under low-visibility conditions due to fog, you should:
When driving in fog, you should slow down and use your low beam lights. If the fog is so dense that you cannot see, pull off the road and wait for the fog to clear.
19 . If you are driving and the rear end of your car starts skidding to the left, you should:
If your vehicle enters a skid, you should take your foot off of the brake and steer in the direction that you want to go. For example, if the rear of your vehicle is skidding to the left, you should steer to the left. This will help bring the front of the vehicle in line with the rear, thereby straightening out the vehicle's overall direction.
20 . When entering a main roadway from a private road, drivers:
Drivers entering traffic from a private road must yield to traffic already on the road. They must also yield to pedestrians on any sidewalk that is crossing the private road.
21 . If you encounter a dust storm while driving, you should:
If you encounter a severe dust storm, you should immediately reduce your speed, drive completely off the highway, stop as far to the right as possible (taking care not to stop in the travel or emergency lanes), turn off your lights, take your foot off the brake, remain in the vehicle with your seat belt(s) buckled, and wait until the dust storm has passed.
22 . When turning left at an intersection:
Drivers making left turns must yield to oncoming traffic that is traveling straight. Drivers must always yield to pedestrians.
23 . This white sign means:
When approaching a railroad crossing, you must look, listen, slow down, and prepare to stop. Let any trains pass before you proceed.
24 . This sign means:
A triangular red and white sign indicates that you must yield the right-of-way.
