FREE Utah DMV Motorcycle Practice Test 2024 Page 2 of 4
Welcome to the State of Utah's free Motorcycle Endorsement Practice Test. The questions on this test are drawn from the Utah Motorcycle Handbook, which can be found online. Although passing this test will help you prepare for the state exam, it does not guarantee that you will pass the state exam. Our practice questions are all multiple-choice, just like the real test. For each question, you have a choice of four different answers. Read each response thoroughly before making your final decision. When you've chosen the proper answer, you'll go on to the next question. We'll show you the correct answer and explain why if you choose the wrong one. If you get any incorrect answers, it's a good idea to go back over that section of the guidebook. If you need assistance answering a question, read the guidelines provided to help you choose an answer. You will pass our practice exam if you correctly answer 20 of the 25 questions. You can take this practice test as many times as you want to help you prepare for the real test.

Motorcycles have blind spots, just like any other vehicle. You should always turn your head to check for traffic in your blind spot before changing lanes. Do not rely on your mirrors alone.
8 . Each lane of traffic provides ____ path(s) of travel for a motorcycle.
Each traffic lane provides three potential riding positions for a motorcycle: the left, center, and right portions of the lane. Motorcyclists should always be prepared to adjust their lane position to respond to changing road and traffic conditions.
9 . If a tire goes flat while you are riding and you must stop, you should:
If either of your tires go flat while you are riding, hold the handgrips firmly, ease off the throttle, and maintain a straight course. If you need to brake, gradually apply the brake to the tire that is not flat. As you slow down, edge to the side of the road, squeeze the clutch, and stop.
10 . Handlebars should be:
Under Utah law, the handlebars of a motorcycle may be no higher than the shoulder height of an operator when seated.
11 . What can you do to increase your chances of being seen at an intersection?
To increase your chances of being seen at an intersection, use your headlight and ride in a lane position that creates the best view of oncoming traffic. Maintain a space cushion around your motorcycle that allows you to take evasive action.
12 . When a lead rider's left arm is bent at the elbow with their index and middle fingers pointing straight up, it means:
Hand signals are an important part of communication when riding in groups. When the lead rider's left arm is bent at the elbow with their index and middle fingers pointing straight up, it means the group should move into a double-file formation.
